"More than merely classic Provençal Rosé in that Idiart’s adds another level of depth and complexity to the pale, salty and sapid style. There’s a Mediterranean brushy feel as well, a dried herb, mountain hillside tea and garrigue emission. Crisp and earthy, crunchy and laden with orange-ginger-lemon tisane. BBQ ready. Crushable too."

Maison Nicolas Idiart

Maison Idiart, a Bordeaux-based wine négociant founded in 2013, embodies the rich oenophilic heritage of Nicolas Idiart. Growing up immersed in a familial tradition of wine appreciation, Nicolas, the passionate winemaker and visionary behind Maison Idiart, inherited his love for wine from both his father and grandfather.

Nicolas embarked on his vinicultural journey at the tender age of 19, graduating from the Bordeaux winemaking school in Blanquefort. His deep-seated affection for Loire wines led him to diverse wine regions, including Chinon, Touraine, and Muscadet, where he honed his craft. His global odyssey extended to Australia and New Zealand, broadening his perspective and enriching his winemaking expertise.

After traversing the globe for several years, Nicolas underwent a pivotal career shift, transitioning from a focus on travel and sales to a reinvigorated dedication to winemaking. At the age of 33, following a seven-year tenure in sales, he decided to return to his winemaking roots, adopting an artisanal approach. This newfound commitment saw him crafting small batches of meticulously handcrafted wines, infusing each creation with a distinct and personal touch.
