This is truly a wine that grabs you even before you have a sip. Cracked pepper, violets, rose petal, orange zest and dark fruit on this intensely aromatic wine. On the palate this has a rich mouth-feel and satin-like texture with the aromas becoming even more intense flavors. A long spicy finish with a pastille sweetness of fruit refreshed by a spicy lift and citrus tang that lingers for at least a minute. Absolutely delicious bottle of wine. Elegant with impressive balance of finesse and richness.

Quinta de Saes is situated in the northern part of the Dão region, located in Northern Central Portugal. Dão boasts the finest cultivation of Touriga Nacional in Portugal. The microclimate, shielding the vineyard from the intense heat of the eastern winds and the excessively damp conditions to the north and west, creates a cool and moderate environment.
The vineyard plots are specifically planted in granite soil at an elevation of 550 meters (1811 feet). The Dão region enjoys a temperate continental climate, shielded from the chilly Atlantic winds by the Luso Mountains, protected from the warm winds of Extremadura to the west by the Sierra da Estrela, and guarded from the dry heat of the Douro by the Serra do Caramulo. The average temperature during the growing season hovers around 57°F (14°C). Annual rainfall amounts to 39 inches, and interestingly, no irrigation is needed.
It's important to remember that taste is subjective, and personal preferences play a significant role.
