Tasting Notes

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with elegant and expressive aromas of dried dark fruit and herbs with nuances of smoke and spice. Concentrated flavors of dark cherries and plums mingle with notes of caramel, licorice, and cedar over a supple structure. The juicy dark fruit carries on in a delicate, soft lingering finish.

Established in 1999 by the Monson Family, Goose Ridge is a family-owned winery with a passion for crafting exceptional wines from grapes cultivated on their extensive 1,400-acre vineyard. With three generations of experience in diverse agricultural practices in the Columbia Valley, the Monson family firmly believes that the foundation of great wines lies in the quality of the grapes. They are dedicated to consistently producing high-quality, unforgettable wines through the implementation of sound viticulture techniques, the careful selection of vineyard sites with low yields, and the expertise of artisan winemaking.

In April of 2010, Goose Ridge Vineyard & Estate Winery welcomed veteran winemaker Kendall Mix as their head winemaker. Kendall brings an impressive 20 years of winemaking experience to the Goose Ridge team, having worked in both boutique, small-scale wineries and large-scale production facilities. He collaborates closely with the vineyard manager to pinpoint the best blocks within their Estate Vineyard. Kendall holds a degree in microbiology from the University of Alberta and has also pursued studies in viticulture and enology at UC Davis.
