This elegant wine opens with aromas of black cherries, raspberries and plums. Medium-bodied with soft tannins, the bright red fruit flavors balance a lingering, sweet oak finish. Pairs beautifully with grilled salmon, roast duck, pork tenderloin and soft-ripened cheeses.

"Really good California pinot noir under $20 USD seems to be the holy grail of wine — something we are always seeking, but may not actually exist. The Craftwork is not only delicious and affordable, but it comes with a county appellation, not just the statewide “California” designation. And it is all-estate fruit, meaning the winery grew the grapes. This is an elegant wine with flavors of strawberries and plums, accented with spicy notes of clove and nutmeg."

Great Value - Washington Post, April 2020

Craftwork Wines

The Scheid Family has been farming wine grapes in Monterey County since 1972. They service an array of winery clients up and down the coast of California with 13 distinct vineyard properties from Soledad down to Hames Valley. One principle has remained constant throughout their company's 30 years in business ... their commitment to delivering what their clients want. This commitment brings their vineyard team and winery client together to realize the common goal of producing outstanding wines.

Scheid Vineyards Inc. is a leading independent vineyard, controlling 5,600 acres of vineyards along California's central coast. The company, the first vineyard not owned by a winery to be publicly traded in the United States, produces 17 varieties of premium wine grapes, supplying more than 30 wineries. Their most important grape varieties are Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, and Syrah. The company produces a small amount of wine under its own label, approximately 5,000 cases a year, to showcase the quality of its wines. Scheid Vineyards contracts with wineries, usually under long-term agreements, to grow wine grapes according to the wineries' specifications. The company is managed and majority-owned by the Scheid family.
