“There’s a tropical flair to the 2020 Etna Bianco De Aetna that makes it a total pleasure on the nose, as notes of pineapple, green melon and hints of confectioners’ spice fill the senses. It’s soft-textured, enveloping the palate in ripe orchard fruits, yet nicely balanced by lime-tinged acidity that maintains marvelous freshness. The 2020 De Aetna finishes with a gentle tug of residual tension and salty mineral tones that are left to linger on. Start to finish, this is a highly pleasurable Etna Bianco. The blend is 80% Carricante, 15% Catarratto and 5% Minnella.”

Terra Costantino

Terra Costantino’s vineyards climb the southeastern slope of Mount Etna at Contrada Blandano, in the territory of Viagrande, the heart of the Etna DOC zone. From here, you can see the sea and taste the windblown tang of salt in the air. The volcano protects the vines from frost carried by the northerly Tramontana wind. On this single 10 hectare plot, Terra Costantino grows exclusively native Etna varieties according to Certified Organic practices: white-skinned Carricante and Catarrato, and red-skinned Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio. In the cellar, ancient presses sit beside modern vinification equipment.
