Many would suggest that there are 3 places to produce great Pinot Noir on earth, with perhaps a few regions on the fringes. For those wondering where the 3 regions are that produce this great Pinot, the answer is of course Burgundy, Oregon and New Zealand.

When you drink great Pinot Noir, it is hard to imagine going back to anything else. Perhaps that is why it is the grape of choice for so many of the most passionate oenophiles. Don’t forget to scroll down for Phelps Creek 2014 Cuvee Alexandrine and the ever popular Churton Pinot Noir. Another winner from New Zealand.

Middle Earth Pinot Noir is New Zealand Pinot as you want it. A beautiful nose, soft and silky on the palate and a nice long finish. It is hard to find decent Pinot at any price, at under $20/bottle, it is time to grab it up. This wine is perfect with a charcuterie plate, on its own, or with a BBQ’d chicken or roasted duck.

A few words from the folks at Middle Earth:

Our story starts more than 50 years ago here at the same property our family still lives at now. Four generations have and continue to work on our land. From beginnings as a Dairy farm producing milk for town supply, to where we are now. A producer of premium 100% sustainable wines.

The Phelps Creek Cuvee Alexandrine has not yet arrived, but it is not far off. We know there are a few of you waiting on this, but we ordered in a few extra cases, and those of you that love Pinot Noir would do well to make sure you get a case.

Well, as good as the Middle Earth Pinot Noir is, the Churton Pinot Noir is likely the pinnacle of Oregon Pinot. We have a few cases in stock. It’s Sunday, so let’s get on with the relaxing….

Have a great day!
