"The 2016 Château Du Bergey opens to inviting aromas of dark cherries and blackberries which come together with fresh herbs, dark chocolate, licorice and hints of fresh florals. A full-bodied Fronsac, with a gorgeous plush texture and beautifully polished, well-integrated tannins making for a wonderful mouthfeel. Shows outstanding depth and opulence, with a core of juicy dark fruits that bust on to the long, supple finish. This is an absolutely fantastic showing which already has much to offer."

In the heart of the miniscule 1000 hectares Fronsac appellation tucked in between Chateaux Dalem, Haut Carles and Beausejour, and on the banks of the ambling Dordogne river this property is a real hidden jewel. The microclimate created by the rolling hills of clay and chalk situated by the mineral rich river have an effect on the Merlot grapes which gives them stunning acidity.
