Always a joy to drink this juicy, deeply fruity red which plays up all the fun of Malbec in its youth. With floral notes of violets and dark roses, then black cherry, blackberry, blueberry and damson. It is sleek, fresh and bouncy, with some nice bite of tannin to keep it in check and make it a great match for things like hoisin duck, or lamb with prunes.

Château de Gaudou
Château de Gaudou sits in Vire-sur-Lot (along the Lot River in the southwest, a few hours inland from Bordeaux) amidst a handful of Cahors’ other prestigious vineyard terroirs. This mythical location is referred to as “The Beverly Hills of the Cahors Appellation”, by notable wine critic Michele Bettane. Most vines on the estate are considered “old vine stock” and remarkably some are still on original rootstock that was planted as far back as the late 1800’s!
Winemaker Fabrice Durou is the 7th generation to continue his family’s winemaking tradition in Cahors. Fabrice has evolved a ‘Cru’ based philosophy with each vintage of little known discovery making today's bottle, a very special find at a price that blows our minds.
