Tasting Notes

In the glass, this wine is simultaneously silk-like and yet tense, it's soft and supple Merlot robe pulled smoothly over a chiseled physique. The Cabernet sauvignon shows on the palate with density and dark red fruit, and yet it remains perfectly balanced and layered in the glass. Time in the glass brings these layers out and the mid palate opens to showcase a gorgeous florality. Beautiful now, and will age for at least a decade

The Producer

Château Brondelle

Château Brondelle is located 2 km from the center of Langon. Jean-Noël Belloc welcomes you (by appointment) and tells you the story of this 'beautiful place' (meaning of 'Belloc' in Gascon). In previous days, this would have belonged to the lordship of the neighbouring Château de Roquetaillade. Through marriage, Château Brondelle was brought to the Bellocs, an old Bazas family whose ancestors were winegrowers in Sauternes. The 45 hectares of Château Brondelle are divided between the Bordeaux and Bordeaux Supérieur appellations, Graves and Sauternes.
