Château d'Aurilhac is at the head of the queue in the new generation of the great wines of the Medoc. Its terroir, in the rural district of Pauillac, surpasses itself each vintage by a vinification and maturation process always more ambitious: its a dense and complicated wine with subtle and resounding aromas.
"Dark crimson. Healthy and full of life. Very bumptious and vibrant on the nose. Mmm – exceptionally ripe and seductive! Only on the very end of the palate does the acidity start to insist. Exceptionally luscious texture. Very well done!"
16.5/20 Points - Jancis Robinson MW, April 2012
"One of my favorite Haut-Medocs for value and consistent quality is d’Aurilhac..."
Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

The Château d'Aurilhac, in Haut-Médoc, is owned by Erik Nieuwaal (also owner of a neighboring castle, the Fagolle) since 1983. The vineyard covers about 20 hectares, planted in Cabernet Franc, Cabernet sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. This domain has rapidly become one of the most prestigious names in the appellation, particularly appreciated by professional critics and still offers excellent value for money.
Robert Parker famously said ‘One of my favorite Haut-Medoc’s for value and consistent quality is d’Aurilhac’. Their vines are located right on the border of legendary Saint-Estèphe, home to not one, not two, but five Grands Crus Classés like Second Growths Cos d’Estournel and Montrose.
It's important to remember that taste is subjective, and personal preferences play a significant role.
