Monte Faustino
According to archaeological evidence vines were growing in the Valpolicella area some 40 million years ago and winemaking came about around the 5th century BC.
Monte Faustino is owned by the Fornaser family who have been making wine since the early 1900’s. The Vineyards of Monte Faustino are situated in the middle of the historical area of Valpolicella Classica on the hills around villages of San Pietro in Cariano and Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella.
The winery is located on the hilltop of the little hamlet Monte Faustini where the winery name was derived from. The wine-cellar is in a very old part of the of their 16th century building.
The Vineyard of 'Monte Faustino' is the first family vineyard. It is the pride of the winery because of the extraordinary longevity of the terrain, which was planted with vines by the family in 1920.
