"Deep violet in color, this wine explodes out of the glass with an extremely intense and heady bouquet of exotic Eastern flowers with wild strawberries and pomegranate. Once past the intriguing nose, the palate features hints of roses, violets and geranium, a note of pink peppercorn and finishes very fresh with limited tannins. An utterly unique experience featuring outstanding balance and concentration."

Mario Lucchetti, supported by his wife Teresa and their son Paolo with his wife Tiziana, has emerged as a key figure in the world of Lacrima di Morro d’Alba wines. The soil, rich in potassium and low in iron, contributes to the creation of wines that boast both robust power and warmth, while consistently offering a highly aromatic experience. The estate spans 18 hectares, primarily planted with Lacrima vines (many of which are 35 to 40 years old) and Verdicchio. The winemaking is under the supervision of Alberto Mazzoni, a standout talent in the Marche region, who also acts as a consulting winemaker for the renowned Sartarelli estate.
In the 1980s, Mario Lucchetti embarked on his winemaking journey with the initial acres of Lacrima di Morro d’Alba, an indigenous grape variety in the rural landscape of Le Marche near the town of Jesi, in the province of Ancona. His passion was dedicated to reviving the significance of the region's native varietals. The estate expanded to 14 hectares with new plantings in 2004, and it continues to grow today. Mario's son, Paolo, who earned his degree in oenology, now collaborates closely with his father, ensuring the family tradition extends into the coming decades. While the primary focus of the winery is their standard Lacrima bottling, they also craft the 'Guardengo' single-vineyard bottling and an Amarone-style Lacrima made from partially dried grapes. Despite their growth, annual production remains modest, staying well below 10,000 cases per year.
