Tasting Notes
Medium ruby colour; ripe dark berry fruit aromas with plum highlights and ground white pepper; blackberry and raspberry flavours with cherry confit, good acid backbone and supple tannins on the finish; this "Bistro Style Red" goes great with grilled burgers, pasta with tomato sauce, roast pork loin, and gourmet vegetarian pizza.

The Producer
Colio Estate Winery
The Colio Estate Winery is located near the sunny shores of Lake Erie, opened its doors in 1980, and is one of the first wineries in the Niagara region granted a licence since prohibition.
Allison Christ, winemaker at Colio Estate Wines, began fostering her skills in winemaking with an Honours BSc. in Chemistry/Mathematics from the University of Windsor, followed by harvest experience in both small and large winery settings, as well as a President’s position at the Windsor Essex Chapter of the Ontario Wine Society. Allison brings her passion to all facets of cellar and winery operations with a focus on harvest, fermentation, blending and bottling.
