This wine has a beautiful ruby colour, bright with purple reflections. Concentrated dark berry on the nose, it shows a dominant mix of ripe cherry, cassis, blackberry and plum. Silky smooth on the palate, with soft but well-structured tannins, rounded, long with a fruity and lingering finish. This is a well-balanced wine showing a lovely mature character.

Château Gromel Bel Air

Château Gromel Bel Air was founded in 1855. The estate and surrounding 27 acres of vineyard are located in Fronsac close to the famous communes of Pomerol and St. Émillion. Fronsac’s higher altitude vineyards are composed of limestone, chalk, and clay producing particularly robust Merlot-based red wines. Cabernet Sauvignon only thrives in select areas on the right bank of the Gironde River and a special parcel of the estate’s vineyards are dedicated to this varietal which provides added structure and freshness to the blend. Château Gromel Bel Air is consistently made with great care and its affordability exemplifies the underrated potential of the area.
