Cognac - a type of brandy - is one of our favourite liquor types. The primary grape varietals used in making Cognac are Trebbiano, Folle blanche and Colombard. Did you know that even though France produces nearly 12 million cases of Cognac, the French prefer to drink Scotch and export 97% of the Cognac they produce.

People often ask about the difference between Vodka and Gin. While vodka is made from distillation of potatoes, rye or wheat, gin is made by distillation of malt or grain and then mixed with the flavor of juniper berries. Gin is the key ingredient of many Prohibition-era and classic cocktails, and thanks to a gin revival, is the base spirit for many modern cocktails.

Tequila is a popular liquor type most often consumed in Mexico and the U.S. While Tequila is the essential ingredient in margaritas, there are lots of other cocktail recipes that include Tequila.
