"Discreet wood and matchstick influences frame pretty aromas of apple and citrus. There is excellent volume to the intense and attractively textured medium weight flavors that possess even better depth and persistence on the dry but not austere finale. This too is well-worth checking out."

Established in 1999 by Dominique Lafon, Héritiers du Comte Lafon is a pioneering winery in the Mâconnais region, known for its biodynamic practices. The Chardonnays produced here exemplify the remarkable potential of this enchanting region.
Historically, the Mâconnais was associated with mass-produced, commercially driven wines. Dominique Lafon was a trailblazer from the Côte d'Or region who recognized the untapped potential of the picturesque rolling hills. He did so by acquiring older vine parcels at higher altitudes, with the goal of allowing the terroir to fully express itself.
He began by transitioning all the vineyards to biodynamic farming, adhering to the Lafon family's unique approach. From the outset, his focus was on preserving the fruit and minerality characteristic of the region, achieved by using larger, neutral oak barrels for aging the wines. Dominique's unwavering belief and passion for the region transformed Héritiers du Comte Lafon into a prominent symbol of excellence in the previously overlooked Chardonnay haven.
Today, under the leadership of his nephew Pierre and daughter Léa Lafon, the message of quality Mâconnais wines is spreading far and wide with a clear and authoritative voice.
