"Aromas of black cherry and plum, some dark spices of wood and barrel ageing layer in suggestions of vanilla and five spice. Lovely texture and mouthfeel with fine chalky tannins and acidity framing core fruit flavours and wood spice highlights. Well made, youthful and lengthy."
93 Points - Cameron Douglas MS, Summer World of Wine, September 2022
"Moderately intense, juicy pinot not with dark-fleshed plum, dark cherry, wood smoke, liquorice and spice oak flavours. Appealing and accessible wine with a core of sweet fruit balanced by rope tannins. Good value."

Jane Hunter was one of the first to recognize the vast potential of Marlborough, located in the northeastern part of New Zealand's South Island, for producing wine. Alongside her late husband Ernie, Jane founded Hunter's Wines in the scenic Wairau Valley in 1983. Since its establishment, Hunter's Wines has consistently crafted wines with a unique and exceptional character. Jane's guiding principle is to produce wines that are not only of high quality but also offer excellent value.
Jane has earned both national and international acclaim for her significant contributions to the New Zealand wine industry. Hunter's Wines has been awarded more than 60 gold medals in competitions worldwide. A notable achievement was in 1992 when the 1991 Sauvignon Blanc received a gold medal and the prestigious Marquis de Goulaine Trophy as the 'Best Sauvignon Blanc in the World' at the International Wine & Spirit Competition. In 1995, Hunter's Wines secured the inaugural Black Diamond Award at the InterVin International Wine Competition, recognizing the winery with the most gold medals.
After three decades in the industry, Jane was honored with induction into the New Zealand Wine Hall of Fame in 2013. In 2016, she was further recognized with the Wine Marlborough Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contributions to Marlborough wine.
