Meursault 1er cru Le Cras by Domaine Georges Noellat 2020

This wine comes from a rare 1er Cru from the northern side of the village, located next to 1er Cru Caillerets and above Volnay 1er Cru Santenots. What is fascinating is that like other elite white Burgundies, after an hour or so in a decanter, the wine actually “firms up” a bit, showing more of its crispness and minerality the longer it’s open. It is full-bodied and layered, coating the palate before buttoning up on the crisp, mineral finish. It’s an exceptionally well-constructed white Burgundy, mixing power and nerve in the most seamless way.
