"The 2017 Minervois la Liviniere Reserve (tasted out of a wooden vat shortly before bottling) has less Carignan in the blend, weighing in at 50% Syrah, 30% Grenache and only 20% Carignan. It's rich and ripe, delivering intense notes of blueberries and spice on a full-bodied, creamy-textured palate and lengthy finish. It should be a beauty."

The Producer

Domaine des Aires Hautes

The Domaine des Aires Hautes was created in 1938 by the grandparents of the present vintner. From a very young age, he worked with his family, in the vineyard and the cellar. The Domaine, located in the Haut Languedoc National Park, straddling the Minervois and Minervois La Livinière appellations, comprises 30 hectares in the heart of the garrigue, on marl, sandstone and clayey-limestone terraces. The Domaine does annual harvesting, fine selection of grapes, manual punching of the cap, reasoned management with AB certification since 2009 and a natural cuvée: Les Catherines.
