Tasting Notes
This Napa Cab shows amazing inky, ruby/brick color, an indicator of the depth of this wine. Avalon's Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon displays aromas of juicy plums, boysenberries and earthy minerality. Caramel, molasses and vanilla notes from oak aging balance and frame the fruit flavors. Oak aging additionally adds weight on the palate. Napa flavors show through with red raspberries and quintessential dark cherries. The tannins are sandy and fine. This spacious Cabernet benefits from decanting to bring out its rich flavors and expansive palette. Or simply enjoy it as it opens up in your glass as you linger over dinner and conversation.

The Producer
Avalon Winery
Avalon Winery, located in the heart of Napa Valley, has a rich history dating back to the early 1970s. The winery was founded by Derek Benham, a successful businessman and wine enthusiast who dreamed of creating world-class wines in California.
Under Benham's leadership Avalon Winery quickly established a reputation for producing exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Merlot wines. In 1993, the winery hired winemaker Jon Bolta, a graduate of UC Davis, to lead their winemaking team.
Bolta's winemaking philosophy focuses on creating balanced and elegant wines that reflect the unique terroir of Napa Valley. The winery's vineyards are situated in the northern part of the valley, where the soil is composed of gravel and volcanic ash, and the climate is moderated by cool ocean breezes.
Today, Avalon Winery continues to produce some of the most sought-after wines in Napa Valley. The winery's flagship wine, the Cabernet Sauvignon, is known for its rich and complex flavor profile, while the Chardonnay and Merlot are equally impressive.
