Kip Lorenzetti, the skilled winemaker behind the renowned Magistrate Family of wines, shares insights into the exceptional terroir that contributes to the success of their wines, boasting an impressive collection of over 150 awards amassed over their 15-year journey. The Magistrate wines embody a delightful blend of unpretentiousness and elegance.
Nestled in the distinctive Paso Robles AVA of California, Magistrate's vineyards benefit from a truly unique viticultural environment. This AVA is distinguished by the most significant diurnal temperature swing among all AVAs in the region. Here, daytime temperatures can soar to a scorching 110 degrees Fahrenheit, only to plunge into the brisk 40s in the evening. This extreme temperature fluctuation not only enhances the development of robust tannins but also plays a pivotal role in intensifying the fruit flavours and aromatic profiles of the wines. It is this harmonious interplay between temperature extremes that lends Magistrate wines their distinctive character, making them a standout expression of the Paso Robles terroir.
It's important to remember that taste is subjective, and personal preferences play a significant role.
