Riesling is a versatile grape variety. It can be made in many different styles from dry to semi-dry, sweet and even sparkling. We believe that Riesling grown in cool climate wine regions, like Niagara, produce food-friendly and age-worthy wines. Our ‘Old Vines’ Riesling is an excellent example of this. It has classic old world aromas of flint with nuances of lemon and lime adding freshness. We made this wine in an unoaked, dry style with a thread of tangy acidity.

Château Des Charmes
The impressive entrance to Château des Charmes Winery (pictured below) with the formal gardens and the classic façade are reminiscent of an ancient French estate. Hardly surprising, as Château des Charmes has a long history of winemaking, dating back seven generations to Alsace.
Founded by industry visionary Paul Bosc, this family estate winery is set among 35-hectares of pristine vines in the St. David’s Bench. By the early 1970s, Paul was crafting Ontario wines that surprised many in the wine world. In 1978, he established Château des Charmes as a 60-acre estate winery and planted the first commercial Canadian vineyard growing only vitis vinifera grapes….this is truly Canadian wine history in the making.
