The Straccali company was founded in 1925 by Giulio Straccali, expert winemaker, farmer, entrepreneur and wine producer. Giulio Straccali was one of the founding fathers of the Consorzio del Gallo Nero (The first territory of wine, in English), known today as Chianti Classico.
In 1978 Italo Zingarelli, an Italian film producer known to have produced several films of the duo Terence Hill and founder of Rocca delle Macìe, sharing Giulio's dream and driven by a forward-looking entrepreneurial spirit, bought the company from Castellina in Chianti from the Straccali family. Since then, Straccali has established itself for the great quality of its wines all over the world, and today, thanks to the constant commitment of the Zingarelli family, it boasts an excellent selection of wines.
