"Vivid golden-tinged straw color. The simple nose offers apple and pear aromas. Then very savory and thick in the mouth, in fact almost oily, with much more intense pear and yellow apple flavors complicated by herbs and balsamic oils on the long finish. A way above average entry-level Pinot Grigio. Well done."

San Pietro
Villa San Pietro Winery stems from Ilaria Accordini's modern vision and her deep-rooted passion for wines. This passion originated from her childhood experiences, as her grandfather, a sharecrop farmer in Valpolicella, used to take her to the vineyard during harvest. Being a Valpolicella native, Ilaria has always believed in a profound connection between terroir, tradition, and innovation. This philosophy is perfectly mirrored in the production of classic wines like Amarone, Ripasso, and Lugana at Villa San Pietro Winery.
Driven by her growing curiosity and love for winemaking, Ilaria ventured abroad to explore techniques and expertise from the other side of the globe. She decided to invest in two hectares of vineyards, one in Mendoza, Argentina, and the other in Lodi, California, adding an international flair to her regional wine portfolio. This initiative gave rise to Evolution Ilaria, a label under Villa San Pietro Winery dedicated to international wines, specifically Malbec and Chardonnay.
The harvesting of indigenous grapes such as Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella at Villa San Pietro Winery is a meticulous, hands-on process. The grapes are exclusively handpicked to ensure the selection of the finest ones for the appassimento method, a historic winemaking technique that brought Valpolicella worldwide acclaim. For the production of their Amarone, the grape bunches are collected in fruit-drying rooms and left there for 3-4 months.
Within the winery, the winemaking unfolds in two distinct areas. The concrete tanks are dedicated to fermentation and storage, while the barrique cellar serves the purpose of aging the wines, embodying the rich heritage and innovative spirit of Villa San Pietro Winery.
