"Moderate reddish purple color in the glass. Intriguing aromas of black cherry, cola, spice and forest floor hold up majestically over considerable time in the glass. Flat-out delicious and very showy, with a mid weight plus core of black cherry, spice, dark chocolate and cedar flavors. Both plush and smooth on the palate with balanced tannins, skillful oak management, and an incredibly glorious cherry finish. Even better when tasted several hours later from a previously opened and re-corked bottle. Enjoy this one for for its exuberant cherry fruit now."

The President and Director of Winegrowing at Phelps Creek, Bob Morus, founded the winery with the vision of nurturing both wine grapes and a family when he relocated to Hood River in 1989. His children, who were the focus of his move, are now fully grown, and the estate vineyard, a stunning expanse of 36 acres, stands as a testament to his dedication.
Since retiring from piloting Boeing 777s in international operations for a major airline, Bob dedicates his time to caring for the vines and overseeing every aspect of production. With the newfound freedom, he also enjoys sharing stories of Phelps Creek in the newly established Tasting Room.
Alexandrine Roy, a fourth-generation Vigneron and the Consulting Winemaker hailing from Gevrey-Chambertin, joined the Phelps Creek team in 2007. Her initial goal was to craft a special cuvée from the estate's Pinot Noir. Over the years, her contributions expanded to influence all the wines produced by the winery. Despite taking the reins at her family's estate, Domaine Marc Roy, Alex continues to find time to return to Oregon and lend her expertise to Phelps Creek Vineyards.
