"Shimmering ruby-red. Heady, spice- and mineral-accented cherry and blue fruit liqueur aromas take on incense and floral accents with air. Juicy, seamless and concentrated, offering densely packed black raspberry, boysenberry and cherry liqueur flavors that show sharp delineation and smoky back-end thrust. Finishes extremely long and lively, with resonating blue fruit, mineral and floral notes and polished tannins that make a late appearance. 50% new oak."

The Producer

The tale of Nicolas-Jay unfolds through the enduring friendship of its founders, Burgundian winemaker Jean-Nicolas Méo and music entrepreneur Jay Boberg, which spans over three decades. Their shared passion for Pinot Noir and the aspiration to create something enduring brought them to the North Willamette Valley. Drawing from their experience working the soils of Burgundy’s Grand Crus, they apply their insights to old-vine sites in Oregon. This includes their own Bishop Creek vineyard, organically farmed, as well as the 53-acre Dundee Hills Estate. From these distinctive locations, Jean-Nicolas, Jay, and associate winemaker Tracy Kendall skillfully produce Nicolas-Jay Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Complementing their wines is a luxurious tasting room and outdoor patio. Additionally, their Confrérie (wine club) presents captivating wines to a tight-knit community of wine enthusiasts.
