2 x 750ml Dolcetto d’Alba Le Ciliegie by Giovanni Manzone 2021

Dolcetto d’Alba Le Ciliegie by Giovanni Manzone 2021

Juicy flavors of bright red cherry and plum shine next to the elegant aroma of violets in this Northern Italian red. The Manzone family has been producing wine out of the Piedmont village of Monforte since 1965. These organic, hand picked grapes see long maceration times which result in a wine that is richly concentrated and deeply colored. Pick up a bottle of this to pair with the chilly nights.

Spanna Cuvee Bernardo Vallana by Vallana Wines 2019

This wine is the result of the work and the passion of the youngest generation of Vallanas. However, it is also the fruit of an age-long family tradition, perfectly embodied in the 20th century by Bernardo Vallana. The structure of the cellars on three layers, the size and the type of the fermentation tanks, the space for barrels and long-ageing bottles, most of the equipment the winery is still using today… all of this was designed or chosen by Bernardo Vallana. Most importantly, he left them with wines of incredible finesse and structure that are the greatest inspiration for their work and set the style of the winery.

"The 2019 Colline Novaresi Spanna Cuvée Bernardo Vallana is gorgeous. It presents a bit more mid-palate sweetness and generosity than many of these wines, which only adds to its considerable appeal. Sweet red cherry, kirsch, rose petal, cinnamon and blood orange build nicely in the glass, leading to a finish marked by lovely delineation and class"

Barbera d'Alba V.S. Santa Caterina by Guido Porro 2022

"Porro’s Barbera straddles the line between an everyday pizza wine and a more substantial red that expresses nuance and can even improve with age. For a Wednesday night pasta dinner, it checks all the boxes: ripe berry fruit with cleansing acidity; richness contrasted by vivaciousness. However, if you have a cellar, don’t hesitate to lay down a few bottles: in a balanced vintage, this wine has serious potential. The 2003, for example, still drinks superbly. After all, these Barbera vines sit in a privileged Barolo site, so there is no shortage of pedigree."
