Tasting Notes

Deep dark-cherry red color with violets rims. Nose: fresh fruit with flowers hints, and red and black fruit. Mouth: smooth mouth feel, delicious and fleshy, with fruity hints and ripe tannins. Finish: enveloping and persistent with a touch of fruit coming through.

Abadia de Acon is a family run winery situated in Ribera del Duero, D.O. Ribera del Duero, in Castrillo de la Vega, Burgos, one of Spain’s most highly sought-after wine regions. Founder Jose Antonio Carrasco's grandfather, Norberto Carrasco, built concrete vats in the cellar and through a wise combination of concrete and wood managed to make graceful, fruity, mature and elegant wine.

By combining tradition, the culture of their land, and modern innovations, they have created a winery that is designed in harmony with nature. They utilize state of the art technology – including a gravity-fed winery – and traditional vineyard cultivation to create exceptional wines.
