"I am very proud of this wine. Every year, each vintage, it earns medals and accolades. It often takes a back seat to Icewine but pound-for-pound this wine is fantastic value. Our Late Harvest Riesling is a rich and flavourful dessert wine. In the glass the aromas of citrus and tropical fruit leap out and fill your nose. When you take a sip it is full and sweet, but not too sweet, with laser sharp balancing acidity. This estate bottled wine is excellent to drink now, but will continue to develop in the bottle for many years."
Paul Bosc, Winemaker

The impressive entrance to Château des Charmes Winery (pictured below) with the formal gardens and the classic façade are reminiscent of an ancient French estate. Hardly surprising, as Château des Charmes has a long history of winemaking, dating back seven generations to Alsace.
Founded by industry visionary Paul Bosc, this family estate winery is set among 35-hectares of pristine vines in the St. David’s Bench. By the early 1970s, Paul was crafting Ontario wines that surprised many in the wine world. In 1978, he established Château des Charmes as a 60-acre estate winery and planted the first commercial Canadian vineyard growing only vitis vinifera grapes….this is truly Canadian wine history in the making.
