Established in 1996, Bodegas Fernández de Piérola is a family-run winery that crafts wines distinct from the typical offerings. Situated in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, their wines embody the essence of the region, shielded from the cold northern winds that can affect vine cultivation.

The winery employs traditional, hands-on techniques such as tillage, manual pruning, weeding, and soil treatments to maintain the health of their vineyards. Bodegas Fernández de Piérola exclusively sources grapes from the Moreda vineyards to preserve their unique flavours, and they utilize various viticultural methods while benefiting from ideal rainfall for optimal vine growth.

The primary grape varieties cultivated in the region are Tempranillo, Tempranillo Blanco, and Viura. The dedicated workers at Bodegas Fernández de Piérola Winery put in extensive manual labour and employ traditional methods to craft exceptional red, white, and rosé wines. The finest grapes are carefully transported to the winery for fermentation in stainless steel tanks to retain their intense aromas and flavours.

Aging is carried out in aged barrels at Bodegas Fernández de Piérola, imparting a natural fragrance and flavour to the wines.
