Tasting Notes

"Here the kaleidoscopically spicy nose is slightly riper with its beautifully layered range of both red and blue pinot fruit, sandalwood, anise, hoisin and rose petal. The rich, classy and ultra-refined medium weight flavors possess a caressing mouthfeel before terminating in a marvelously complex, driving and explosively long finish. This almost thick effort is quite firm but not at all austere though I have a sneaking feeling that this is going to shut down significantly once it is in bottle and thereafter, plenty of patience will be requisite."

The Producer

Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux

A wine estate founded in 1858 in Vosne-Romanée, Florence Arnoux-Lachaux (daughter of Robert ARNOUX) is today at the head of the 14-hectare estate, with her eldest son Charles Lachaux. Both share a deep attachment to the family heritage entrusted by previous generations.

Since his arrival on the farm in 2011, Charles has instilled a new dynamic, by implementing regenerative agriculture, eco-grazing, biodynamics, goblet pruning, high trellising, and the complete cessation of trimming.

Whole-harvest vinification since 2012, short vatting and very little interventionist operating method. For the aging of the wines, sandstone containers have replaced all the oak barrels since the 2022 harvest.

With each evolution, the Domaine strives to translate the expression of the terroirs as well as possible, in order to produce ‘Pinot Noir’ of emotion and pleasure.
