Tasting Notes

The Roncier Vin de France comes from a marriage of cuvées carefully selected for their exceptional quality. The eclectic blend of Pinot Noir, Gamay and Cinsault ensure a easy to drink, fruity wine. A light-bodied wine dominated by red fruits with hints of raspberries and spices. Smooth texture and acidity are balanced by the soft tannins and complemented by a long, well-structured finish.

The Producer

L. Tramier & Fils

In 1842 Louis Tramier was a young man working freight boats on the Rhône and Saône rivers. Eventually finding himself in Burgundy, he settled in Chalon-sur-Saône and gave up river work under the (correct) assumption that the developing railroads were the future of freight transport. Rather than further a career in the burgeoning new form of logistics, he chose to purchase land and vines, realizing the railroads would greatly increase the demand for wine to export. Nearly two centuries later it would seem his gamble paid off handsomely!
