Producer : La Mannella
Region : Italy (Italy), Tuscany (Italy)
Bottle Per Case : 12 x 750 ml
"A Brunello bambino in every sense, a mini distillate of roses, pungent bulbs, earth and boyishly juicy for the purpose of fresh and ready to drink. Brunello superceded by Rosso, licked by a B-Minor liqueur, like pentatonic flat five blues scales based around the wide intervalic shapes that are created when combining the diminished (Rosso) and the pentatonic (Brunello). A clean, pure expression of Sangiovese with an undercurrent of wilder temptation and tension, but it's too easy for the dark side to really speak. Drink it, enjoy the juices flowing and imagine the larger possibilities, while always remaining true to the tonal core. Drink 2015-2019."

For decades, the Cortonesi family has owned and passionately cultivated the La Mannella farm in Montalcino, focusing on producing exceptional Brunello di Montalcino. They skillfully create the Rosso di Montalcino using the younger Brunello grapes. The combination of favourable geography, rocky soils, and innovative winemaking results in some of the region's most profound and refined Brunello wines.
Since the 1970s, the Cortonesi family has been involved in winemaking. Initially, their wines were crafted for the enjoyment of family, friends, and neighbors. However, by 1985, Cortonesi had garnered enough recognition within their community to start offering their wines commercially. Today, Cortonesi remains a family-run business committed to tradition while integrating modern technologies to enhance the quality of their production.
Devotees of Sangiovese actively seek out 'La Mannella,' a series of wines exclusively sourced from Cortonesi's private vineyard. Spanning 56 hectares, with eight dedicated to producing some of the world's most sought-after and age-worthy Brunello di Montalcino, this farm stands as a testament to the family's enduring commitment to excellence.
