"Subtle and elegant, that's how Churton's 2023 Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough is best describd. Pure like glacial water with fine, lacy texture, its flavors are delicate and refined. Readers can expect restrained floral notes, sweet apple and nectarine, and the merest hin of flinty character. It has rich substance within its mid-weight core, and the finish is long and texturally complex. That's not something you can say about alot of Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs, but then Churton does its own thing."

"A very attractive bouquet with aromas of citrus and ripe stone fruits, a tickle of tropical and fine lees layers. A natural ferment approach showcases the mineral qualities inherent. The texture and weight of this wine as it touches the palate are delicious, then the core flavours of citrus, lemon, and stone fruits white peach, then apple layer together with a fine lees texture and complexity. Balanced and well made, ready to drink from late 2024 through 2029."

The Producer

Churton

Churton is a biodynamically farmed, organic (registered with Biogro NZ) vineyard situated in the southern hills of Marlborough. Producing Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir as well as small quantities of Viognier and Petit Manseng, Churton's core philosophy is New World wine tempered with Old World style. Winemaker & owner, Sam Weaver, takes advantage of the site's altitude (200m), clay based soils and superb north-east aspect to create wines that are approachable in youth but with a remarkable ability to age. These are wines of integrity that eloquently express their unique terroir and organic origins.
