"Alexander Gottardi's first time using whole-bunch fermentation has paid off. Bewitching aromas and a balanced palate. Graceful, supple and long. On this showing, Italy's top Pinot Nero."

Gottardi
The vineyard is situated above Neumarkt in the Alto Adige region of South Tyrol, an area renowned as 'Pinot Noir Heaven' and considered one of the finest locations in Italy for cultivating this challenging grape variety. The estate's high elevation, facing the afternoon sun, provides an ideal environment for producing some of Italy's finest Pinot Noir.
In 1986, the Gottardi family purchased the estate, which encompasses 16 acres of land. This acquisition marked a return to winemaking in the region for the family, as they had lost their vineyards to phylloxera and peronospora three generations earlier. The Gottardi 'chateau' is dedicated exclusively to growing Pinot Noir and features a gravity-fed winery tailored to best accommodate this delicate grape variety, bringing out its unique character in one of Alto Adige's exceptional vineyard locations.
In 1995, Gottardi released its inaugural vintage of Pinot Noir, which received recognition as the best Blauburgunder in Alto Adige. This acclaimed first vintage was followed by years of international acclaim.
