Tasting Notes

A deep garnet in colour, this rich and robust Niagara Syrah displays characteristics of cocoa, cherry, black pepper spice on the nose. The palate of this wine echoes complex notes of plum, cherry, dark chocolate and pepper spice.

The Producer

Lakeview Cellars

Lakeview Cellars was founded in 1991, by Eddy Gurinskas and his wife Lorraine. The production for that year was 2,300 cases. Eddy established a name for Lakeview early in the Niagara wine industry, by crafting big, bold reds and aromatic whites. In 2003, Eddy retired and passed the winemaking duties on to his apprentice at the time, Thomas Green. Tom has followed in Eddy's footsteps, continuing to craft great wines on which Lakeview bases its reputation.

In 2001 Lakeview Cellars was purchased by Diamond Estates Wines & Spirits Ltd. November 2005 Diamond Estates announced a $1 million investment from Canadian acting legend, Dan Aykroyd.
