The attractively open, nutty and toasty nose shows ripe fruit. The palate is nicely textured, with buttery fruit and nutty, toasty oak, together with some toffee notes. This is riper and fuller than some of the other Chardonnays here."

Au Bon Climat is one of those estates whose reputation precedes them. Since 1982, owner/winemaker, Jim Clendenen has profoundly shaped the landscape of quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in California’s Central Coast, creating pure expressions of Santa Barbara County before the region was immortalized in the 2004 movie, Sideways, and long before it became the go-to appellation for “The New California.”
It's important to remember that taste is subjective, and personal preferences play a significant role.
