The winery's roots can be traced back to 1784, when King Carlos III of Spain acquired the land on which the winery now stands. He constructed a grand estate as a gift for his illegitimate daughter, Juanita.
The grapes used to make this wine are sourced from an ancestral property known as 'Heredad,' a name inspired by the birds that once called it home. The 'graulas,' a species of magpie that inhabited the estate, kept intruders at bay with their imposing presence, but they showed great respect for the family and its heritage.
In 2012, Reserva de la Tierra Group acquired Heredad Graula and embarked on a mission to rejuvenate the vineyard. They modernized the production facilities, planted new vineyards, and erected a new winery. Today, Heredad Graula stands as a testament to its remarkable history, producing contemporary, indulgent, and rich wines that embrace both tradition and innovation.
It's important to remember that taste is subjective, and personal preferences play a significant role.
