Tasting Notes
Round and complex with a gentle development of floral honey. Nutty and oily with allspice aplenty. Warming and rich in the mouth. A sweet honey develops, vanilla, a hint of cigar leaf with nutty Sherry and a faint hint of smoke or malty peat. The finish is long and honeyed, subtly fading away with floral and fruity hints.
A rich, complex and quite beautiful Balvenie.
A highly thought of 30 year old from Balvenie that netted a Gold Medal at the 2010 International Spirits Challenge and a 90 points from Serge Valentin on Whisky fun.
