Tasting Notes

"Really pretty aromas of currants and roses follow through to a medium body, firm and silky tannins and a fresh finish. Very well done for 2014 and a wonderful Tignanello to drink now or later. Better in 2019."

The Producer

Antinori

Antinori, one of Italy's most renowned wine producers, has a rich history dating back over 600 years. The winery is owned and operated by the Antinori family, with Marchese Piero Antinori leading the business since 1966. Chief Winemaker Renzo Cotarella has been at the helm of winemaking since 1995, bringing with him over 40 years of experience.

Located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, Antinori's vineyards benefit from the region's unique terroir, characterized by its hilly landscape and well-draining soils. The winery also owns estates across Tuscany and Umbria, each producing wines that reflect their distinct terroirs.

Antinori has received numerous awards and accolades over the years, including Wine Spectator's Wine of the Year award in 2011 for their Tignanello wine. The winery is also recognized for its sustainable winemaking practices, including the use of renewable energy sources and organic farming methods.

One interesting detail about Antinori is their extensive collection of aging wines, with some bottles dating back to the early 20th century. The winery also produces a wide range of wines, from classic Chianti to more experimental blends, and remains dedicated to pushing the boundaries of winemaking and producing some of the world's finest wines.
