One of the most prestigious estates in the Douro is Quinta do Vallado, a farm that belonged to D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, known as Ferreirinha, and which is still in the hands of her descendants. These are wines of great importance in the history of the Douro and that deserve to be at the top of any wine list.
The 2020 Vallado Tinto offers a very concentrated aroma, with intense mature red fruit aromas, hints of violets and "esteva" (a local Portuguese resinous bush). Great structure, full bodied, matured round tannins, with a long persistent finish.
