Lelouvier

In 1933, André Lelouvier embarked on his entrepreneurial journey as a wine and spirits merchant in Brioze, located in the Orne region. Over time, Lelouvier expanded his enterprise beyond a mere shop, venturing into the art of aging calvados and brewing beer. This diversification led him to establish the renowned Lelouvier brand, under which he proudly distributed his crafted beverages.

As the decades unfolded, André Lelouvier became a prominent figure in the region during the sixties. His reputation soared not only due to the exceptional quality of his Calvados but also because of the strong ties he forged with the indirect tax services. The seventies marked a pivotal moment when he founded the Calvados Lelouvier company, a legacy he would later entrust to his offspring. Steering the ship into the next era, his son Christian assumed the mantle of leadership.

The scenic ‘Domaine des champs’ in la Ferté Macé, nestled within the Orne, served as the backdrop for the maturation of the esteemed calvados during André Lelouvier's era. The residence bore witness to the craftsmanship and dedication invested in perfecting the beverages.

However, in 2016, the narrative took a turn with the passing of Christian Lelouvier. Subsequently, the reins of the family business transitioned hands as Calvados Christian Drouin SAS acquired the company, marking a new chapter in the illustrious journey of Lelouvier's legacy.
