What's In The Box:
1 x 750ml Hautes Cotes du Beaune Blanc by Hoffman-Jayer 2020
1 x 750ml Chablis Rive Droite by Domaine Testut 2021
1 x 750ml Heritiers du Comte Lafon by Macon Villages 2022
White Burgundy is an all year round obession for me, and we represent some of the very best producers there are, at incredible prices. First up is Domaine Testut’s benchmark Chablis Rive Droite. Few whites consistently deliver everything this wine does: aromatics, minerality, texture, balance, intensity… It is the total package, even at this age. Second is Comtes Lafon, a domaine that is among the greatest white wine makers in the entire world, and while their Meursault will cost you $300+, their project in the Macon offers sensational value with incredible tension and flinty reduction, underpinning the rich, stone fruit core of Maconnais Chardonnay. Last, but CERTAINLY not least the Hoffman Jayer’s Haut Cotes de Beaune Blanc. Ever since its purchase in 2017, these are quickly becoming some of the most exciting wines in this once forgotten appellation, and this wine proves why. Packed with such incredible depth and concentration, it really did take our breath away when we shared a few bottles with our families last week.
