Tasting Notes

"Based on 70% Semillon and 30% Sauvignon, the 2021 Clos des Lunes Lune D'Argent Blanc is a hidden little gem of a white that readers will love. Lots of citrus, lemon curd, white flowers, and rocky minerality define the bouquet, and it's medium-bodied on the palate, with bright acidity, good depth of fruit, and outstanding length."

91-93 Points - Jeb Dunnuck, August, 2022

"The 2021 Lune d'Argent, picked September 13 to October 4, has an understated bouquet of citrus peel, petrichor and linden scents that unfurl nicely in the glass. The palate is saline on the entry, displaying fine acidity, touches of orange peel and spice, and good density on the oyster-shell-tinged finish. This should give many years of pleasure, but it needs bottle age."

91-93 Points - Neal Martin, Vinous, April 2022

The Producer

Domaine de Chevalier

There are many reasons that Bordeaux is the world's most famous wine region, but the most important is, they make fantastic wines and the whites are no exception. Bordeaux Blanc, when done well, epitomizes what most of us are looking for in a great bottle of wine.

The Domaine has a long history dating all the way back to the 1155 and continues to be family run estate, owned by the Bernard family. Located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation which ranked among the Crus Classés for red and white wine in the Classification of Graves, it's one of a very few Bordeaux estates to be named 'Domaine' instead of 'Château'.
