  1. New Pinot Grigio Trentino-Alto Adige by San Pietro 2017

    $275.40

    San Pietro

    Alto Adige (Italy), Italy (Italy)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Rich Fish, Soft Cheese, White Meat

"Vivid golden-tinged straw color. The simple nose offers apple and pear aromas. Then very savory and thick in the mouth, in fact almost oily, with much more intense pear and yellow apple flavors complicated by herbs and balsamic oils on the long finish. A way above average entry-level Pinot Grigio. Well done."

  2. New Adras Mencia Ribeira Sacra by Isaac Fernandez Seleccion 2016

    $299.40

    Isaac Fernandez Selección

    Ribeira Sacra (Spain), Spain (Spain)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables, Soft Cheese

These fifty-plus year-old Mencía vines have succeeded nicely in 2016, offering up a fine aromatic constellation of cassis, pepper, espresso, graphite, a superb base of slate and a topnote of bonfire. On the palate the wine is pure, fullbodied and nicely sappy at the core, with impressive transparency, modest tannins and a long, tangy and complex finish. This is still a young wine and will gain in complexity with further bottle age, but it is very nicely balanced out of the blocks and already a pleasure to drink. Quite a classic example of the slightly moredelicate style of Mencía planted on the terraces above the Miño River.

  3. New Rabigato Douro Branco by Colinas do Douro 2016

    $299.40

    Colinas do Douro

    Douro (Portugal), Portugal (Portugal)

    12 x 750 ml

    Risotto, Vegetables, White Meat

"Oak-aged Rabigato is rare, so it is interesting (and delicious) to taste this successful wine. It has a judicious use of wood (just a hint). The wood has just softened the enthusiastic acidity while crisp fruit broadens this naturally fruity wine. Drink from 2019."

  4. $178.50

    Cave Spring Cellars

    Niagara (Canada), Ontario (Canada)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Rich Fish, Soft Cheese, White Meat

Cave Spring`s Blanc de Blancs is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes, which are grown in the limestone-clay soils of their vineyards along the benchlands of the Niagara Escarpment. Vinified in the Traditional Method, it was fermented and aged sur lie in bottle for a minimum of 30 months prior to disgorging. The result is a dry, Brut-style sparkling wine exhibiting delicate effervescence mineral nuances that are true to its cool-climate origins. WINE ACCESS: This wine is the flagship for Cave Spring's increasingly important sparkling wine focus, which now involves four labels. It won a Lieutenant-Governor's Award in 2012. This 100% chardonnay was aged for three years, building subtle almond complexity into the dried apple, lemon and shortbread aromas. It is light-bodied, lively, gentle, delicate and a touch sweet, yet built on a beam of mineral acidity. There's excellent length on the finish. This is a terrific blanc de blanc. 91 points. 5. $359.40

    Weingut Vollenweider

    Germany (Germany), Mosel (Germany)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Rich Fish, Soft Cheese

"This multi-source cuvée displays its usual knack for delivering value, with brightly fresh lemon and apple allied to a flatteringly waxy texture and underlain by firm slate, just as its name (“firm as a rock”) suggests. This finishes with clarity, vibrancy and refreshment, not to mention impressive sheer penetration. While the label says 12% alcohol, the wine projects a fine sense of lift."

    Domaine Bachelet-Monnot

    Burgundy (France), France (France)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Rich Fish, White Meat

"This lieu-dit tends to produce rich, gastronomic Meursaults, and it has certainly done so in 2016. A classic bouquet of poached pear, peach and oatmeal precedes a full-bodied, ample palate. It is multidimensional and detailed, and underpinned by juicy acids which balance the site’s inherent voluminousness. This will deliver a lot of pleasure at the table."
