    Produced using the Tradtional Method of sparkling wine production, and aged for at least 15 months on lees, making this a Reserva Cava. Brilliant yellow colour with green reflections. Fine, persistent bubbles forming continuous beads. On the nose, it displays citrusy and tropical fruit notes along with more complex aging aromas (toast & brioche) that enrich the range of aromas. On the palate, it is creamy, wide and long-lasting. The result is a highly versatile wine, pairable with a great variety of food.

     

    "Very elegant on the nose, there is just some brioche, almondine and grilled pineapple. The palate has a greater concentration of flavor, its lively bubbles driving roasted apple, buttered biscuit and underripe red plum. The long finish is pleasing."

    "The 'La Cigalette' is a gorgeous showing in this vintage. It opens to fresh, inviting aromas of black raspberries, plums, violets, spices, pepper and black olives all taking shape. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with a lovely velvety texture that displays beautiful depth and focus. Flavors of ripe black raspberries, dark plums and violets notes continue to build through the long, juicy finish. Overall, this is a simply fantastic wine which will be accessible upon release and will also cellar nicely over the next decade."

    "The 2016 7 Fuentes will give you an idea of how the vintage behaved at Suertes del Marqués. They did multiple fermentations, most in concrete but some in stainless steel without temperature control—as the grapes were cooled down—and with indigenous yeasts. They used around 10% full clusters. Some 60% of the volume matured in concrete for nine months, while the rest was in used 500-liter oak barrels and one new 4,500-liter oak foudre. This has even less color than the 2015, and feels sharp, a little raw, very volcanic and peppery, and it feels like there's one extra step in complexity and depth here. The palate is really nice, electric and, curiously enough, seems sharp, but at the same time, it has volume. This could very well be my favorite vintage of 7 Fuentes to date."

    "Less than 900 cases are produced of this Hood River pinot noir passing through volcanic basalt in the Columbia Gorge. It's a serious aromatic treat, sweetly red cherry contested against a wall of harnessed and gritty power. Surprisingly it is fine-grained tannin that keeps this wound Nuits St. Georges tight so that longevity can be bred from a taut sense of structure. This is a piece of Oregon not to be missed."
