    Badia di Morrona

    Italy (Italy), Tuscany (Italy)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

Beautiful ruby red wine with its intense and deep colour. The bouquet is rich and composite, open with hints of red fruit and berries, followed by floral nuances, balsamic resins, cinnamon, cocoa and black pepper. Full-bodied and rightly tannic, smooth, warm and enveloping, with good length.

    12 x 750 ml

"The 2016 Chianti Colli Fiorentini Riserva La Toretta is a classy, polished wine. Light on its feet, silky and perfumed, the 2016 has so much to offer. Succulent dark cherry, mint, lavender, spice and licorice show off the slightly darker side of Sangiovese. Sweet floral and spice notes add lift and nuance to this classy, super-expressive Chianti."

    Il Palazzino

    Italy (Italy), Tuscany (Italy)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Vegetables

"The 2016 Chianti Classico Argenina is fabulous. When so many estates are releasing 2018s and 2017s, Il Palazzino presents a striking Chianti Classico from the great 2016 vintage that overdelivers big time. Dark and imposing, as these wines tend to be, the Argenina possesses remarkable balance and tons of complexity. Dark cherry, gravel, sage, mint and leather bring out the darker side of Sangiovese. The 2016 is intense in the glass, and yet retains so much Sangiovese translucence. Best of all, it is an absolute steal. Give the 2016 a few hours of air and prepare to experience Sangiovese and Chianti Classico in all its majesty."

    Cortonesi

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Veal roasted

"Aromas of ripe wild berry, purple flower, leather and baking spice shape the inviting nose. It's bigger and more concentrated than what you would normally expect for a Rosso di Montalcino. It's smooth and juicy, with black cherry, plum and cocoa flavors. Taut, fine-grained tannins give it velvety support. Enjoy through 2023."

    La Mannella

    Italy (Italy), Tuscany (Italy)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Hard Cheese, Lard, Pasta, Red Meat, Vegetables

"Tommaso Cortonesi’s Rosso ’18 is pure La Mannella, expressly northeasterly Montalcino and bright as a February Benvenuto Brunello day. Crunchy and raised with all the land caught inside, the fruit expressive and elastic, the finish blessed with just a few years notability by structure. Promising and effective, proper and precise. "

"Poggerino's 2016 Chianti Classico is gorgeous. Aromatically lifted and juicy on the palate, the 2016 has much to offer. Black cherry, plum, tobacco, new leather, licorice and spice are pushed forward in a supple, beautifully perfumed Chianti Classico. The 2016 is impeccably done. Best of all, it will drink well right out of the gate."

    Le Calvane

    12 x 750 ml

"This is a fragrant medley of cherries, currents, licorice and fine spice, vanilla, pipe tobacco and roses; its freshness belies its age. The palate is also youthful but woven with fleshy berry flavours, spiced cocoa and tobacco. It has depth and complexity, freshness and structure; a complete wine."

"The 2016 Chianti Classico Riserva Bugialla is a total knock-out. Plush, dark and explosive, the 2016 possesses superb depth and textural richness. Super-ripe black cherry, plum, espresso, licorice, new leather and spice all flesh out in a heady, super-distinctive Riserva loaded with class and personality. The 2016 is fabulous in every way, but I especially admire its explosive energy."

    Poggio di Guardia

    Italy (Italy), Tuscany (Italy)

    6 x 750 ml

Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Pasta, Red Meat

"At the pinnacle of the local red blend food chain at Poggio di Guardia is this merlot, cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon based wine made with the use of rebo housed in Terracotta Orcio amphora. Siena used this garrison high point to warn of enemy sightings during the Florentine wars of the Middle Ages and today it houses some of Tuscany's most fascinating vineyards. Oenologist Stefano di Blasi and Gabbiano's Federico Cerelli have transformed these Radda in Chianti blocks into some of the (Chianti Classico) territory's great IGT cru sites. Rebo was created in 1948 by Rebo Rigotti at the San Michele all'Adige research center in Trentino and why it was planted in Chianti Classico is not quite certain. Not dried appassimento style but instead fortified in amphora there are glycerin and dried fruit notes of great tang to support what the Bordeaux grapes just seem to want and need. More ripeness, consistent funk and great grip are hallmarks of 2016 and spice is simply everywhere. The changes of tense, chords and tempo are so unique to this blend and the place. You just have to try it to believe."
