"Structured and still young, this rich wine is full of dusty tannins as well as dark black fruits. Blending Touriga Nacional and Cabernet Sauvignon has given a wine with excellent aging potential. Firm and concentrated now, it needs to age until 2020."

Tells a story of place so succinctly and what's coming over the next few years. Sweet acids balance and foil drying tannins for classically trained and executed Rosso. Drink 2020-2024.l"

A full-bodied Fronsac, with a gorgeous plush texture and beautifully polished, well-integrated tannins making for a wonderful mouthfeel. Shows outstanding depth and opulence, with a core of juicy dark fruits that bust on to the long, supple finish. This is an absolutely fantastic showing which already has much to offer."

“The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is a terrific value and is 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Petit Verdot, and the rest Petite Sirah. It has a Bordeaux-ish bouquet of new saddle leather, cedarwood, tobacco leaf, and smoky black fruits as well as medium body, plenty of fruit, sweet tannins, and a good finish. It’s not going to make old bones, but it has serious character, and I’d happily drink bottles over the coming 4-6 years.”

90 points, Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2018

“Floral aromas of violet and cherry blossom drop into rich black-cherry and cocoa tones on the nose of this widely available bottling. The palate is juicy in black cherry and blackberry flavors, with accents of oak and cracked pepper, all framed by a chalky texture.”

    Donatella Cinelli Colombini

    Italy (Italy), Tuscany (Italy)

    12 x 750 ml

Ham, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Vegetables

Intense and brilliant ruby red. This wine proves its richness through the slow movement of the wine rotating in the glass. Fine, complex, full of hints of ripe red fruits, and spices that come from the barrel ageing period. Of great structure, full, harmonious, and long lasting.Serve with noble meats (such as the fiorentina steak) and aged cheeses. Well matched also with Indian and Chinese spicy and tasty dishes.

    92 points -James Suckling

"Translated as "the dragon and the 8 doves," the 2015 Il Drago e le 8 Colombe is an IGT Toscana blend of 60% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot and 20% Sagrantino. The eight doves refer to the all-female staff at the Donatella Cinelli Colombini winery, and the dragon is Donatella's husband Carlo Gardini. I taste the hearty Sagrantino grape first both in terms the boldness of the bouquet and that slight tannic crunch you get in the mouth. The Merlot serves to soften it up, and the Sangiovese adds freshness and the pretty berry aromas that define the bouquet. This Tuscan red has the heft and substance to pair with grilled steak."
