  1. New Baco Noir Speck Family Reserve VQA by Henry Of Pelham 2018

    $148.50

    Henry Of Pelham

Canada (Canada), Niagara (Canada), Ontario (Canada)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

"An opaque purple-black in the glass, this Reserve baco offers aromas of charred toast, rich dark berry fruit and gamy bits. It rolls over the palate in delicious waves of sweet-tinged, rich ripe flavours of cassis, black plum and ripe mulberry interlaced with savoury herbs and great pizzazz. It’s medium-full bodied with good mouthfeel and a long, balanced and delectable finish. The price-quality ratio skews well in your favour… pick up an armful."

    Domaine de Dionysos

    France (France), Southern Rhône (France)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

"The 'La Cigalette' is a gorgeous showing in this vintage. It opens to fresh, inviting aromas of black raspberries, plums, violets, spices, pepper and black olives all taking shape. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with a lovely velvety texture that displays beautiful depth and focus. Flavors of ripe black raspberries, dark plums and violets notes continue to build through the long, juicy finish. Overall, this is a simply fantastic wine which will be accessible upon release and will also cellar nicely over the next decade."

"This is really well done with dark cherries, mulberries, licorice and tar. Very structured, refined and elegant on the palate, where edgy tannins gather pretty forest fruit together and mold them into fine, pastry-like sheets."

  4. New 7 Fuentes by Suertes de Marques 2017 7 Fuentes by Suertes de Marques 2017

    $335.40

    Suertes del Marqués

    Spain (Spain), Tenerife (Spain)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

"The entry-level red is the 2017 7 Fuentes, a Listán Negro blend with some 10% Castellana Negra sourced from up to 25 vineyards from the La Orotava village. This represents a high percentage of their production with 67,000 bottles, which is more than half of their annual output. There were multiple fermentations, some in concrete, some in stainless steel, with around 10% full clusters and always with indigenous yeasts. Seventy percent of the volume was kept in concrete while the remaining 30% matured in used 500-liter oak barrels for nine months. This is a good barometer for the style, character and quality of the vintage, and it shows a little mellower and more approachable than the 2016. It's a little juicier within the pumice and black pepper style that always defines this wine. There are up to eight bottlings from the same master blend. Drink 2019-2022."

  5. New Langhe Nebbiolo DOC by Fratelli Borgogno 2018

    $359.40

    Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno

    Italy (Italy), Piedmont (Italy)

    12

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Hard Cheese, Pasta, Red Meat

"This is from younger vines in Barolo, and it’s aged in large Slavonian oak casks. This shows great precision and purity, with raspberry and cranberry fruit, some tannic crunch and bright acidity. This has a lovely purity to it, showing a lot of fruit but also great structure and focus. Benchmark Nebbiolo, with good concentration for a Langhe, and elegance and prettiness coupled with acid and tannin presence. Carries its alcohol very well."

    Flat Rock Cellars

Canada (Canada), Niagara (Canada), Ontario (Canada)

    6 x 750 ml

Cured Meat, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables, White Meat

Flat Rock Cellars' Gravity is designed to showcase the "best of the best" in the estate's Twenty Mile Bench vineyard and cellar. That means careful selection of the best parcels of Pinot Noir vines, vinified separately and then the best is chosen from individual barrels. The nose shows generous cran-cherry fruit with a subtle note of earthy goodness and oak spice. It's pure and delicious on the palate with bright red fruits, ripe tannins, vibrant acidity and good length through the finish.

"Truly benchmark Niagara Pinot Noir! I've long been a fan of Flat Rock's Pinot Noirs, especially the Gravity. Aromas of ripe cherry. Vibrant racy acidity. The winery uses the gentlest methods to press the grapes and make the wine via a gravity flow system rather than pumping (thus the name gravity on the label). Then the wine was aged in French oak barrels for 18 months. Medium ruby hue with cherry accents, polished tannins, silky smooth texture and medium bodied weight. Gorgeous cherry-berry aromas and flavours on the mid-palate. Then it finishes with wisps of black raspberry and vanilla toast. This red wine is so vivacious and so fantastically great year after year. Pair with roast or grilled chicken."

    Fratelli Serio & Battista Borgogno

    Italy (Italy), Piedmont (Italy)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Vegetables

"This is beautiful. It’s concentrated at the same time as being bright and fresh, with a crunchy raspberry edge to the floral cherry fruit. There’s an almost perfect balance between the just-ripe, pure red fruit character and the spice and herb savouriness, with firm, fine-grained tannins and bright acidity providing the structural foil. This is a pleasure to drink now, but you feel its best years are ahead of it. And many of them. The alcohol is high, but there’s no sense of over-ripeness, and a little sweetness from the alcohol helps melt the tannins a little."

    6 x 750 ml

Blue flower, underbrush and wild herb aromas mix with a whiff of tobacco. Racy and linear, the palate offers sour cherry, star anise and a hint of rusted iron alongside taut, close-grained tannins that leave a drying finish.

  10. New Piedlong Châteauneuf-du-Pape by Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe (Vignobles Brunier) 2014

    $569.94

    Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe

    France (France), Southern Rhône (France)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Vegetables

"(made with 50% whole clusters): Deep, bright-hued red. Spicy raspberry and cherry on the nose, complicated by notes of white pepper, candied flowers and allspice. Juicy and focused, offering ripe cherry and red berry flavors that show a hint of medicinal bitterness. Turns sweeter and deeper with air and shows very good clarity on the finish, which is framed by fine-grained tannins that fold quickly into the sappy fruit."
