  1. New Bricco Preje Piemonte Rosato by Poderi dei Bricchi Astigiani 2018

    $239.40

    Poderi dei Bricchi Astigiani

    Italy (Italy), Piedmont (Italy)

    12 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Rich Fish, Scallop, Soft Cheese, White Meat

Cherry red in color with light but brilliant ruby highlights, peach petal tones at the rim and hints of orange in the depths. White peaches on the nose along with raspberries and red currants, floral hints on the aromatic finish. Soft on the palate, balanced, dry, the flavors are firm and savory with the same fruity freshness and floral notes of the aromas, delicately peachy on the nose.

    Vallana Wines

    Italy (Italy), Piedmont (Italy)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables

"The NV Lot 2006 Campi Raudii Library Release has naturally lost some of the fruit intensity seen in this wine when it is younger, and yet it has also retained quite a bit of depth. Orange peel, tobacco, star anise and a host of more exotic floral notes are all found. Aromatically beguiling and constantly changing in the glass, the 2006 has a lot to say. Even with all of its depth, the Campi Raudii has that translucent feel that makes the best wines from Alto Piemonte so compelling. Drink 2018 - 2026"

The nose offers a complexity of aromas beautifully intermingled: prune, mocha, cherries, truffle, and vanilla plus a touch of spice. To taste, it reaches all corners of your mouth with a medium to full body, velvety smooth tannins, and clean, balanced acidity. Finishes with exceptional length and depth of flavour. Robust and austere, this wine may be enjoyed now or stored for years to come.

"Camphor, dark spice, wild herbs and woodland berry aromas shape the nose. On the focused palate, bright acidity and taut, refined tannins accompany crushed raspberry, juicy Marasca cherry and star anise. Mint and orange zest notes give depth to the finish."

    Giovanni Manzone

    Italy (Italy), Piedmont (Italy)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Veal roasted, Vegetables

"The 2014 Barolo Castelletto is another very pretty wine from Manzone. Orange peel, rose petal, rosemary, star anise, mint and kirsch give the 2014 a slightly exotic quality that is hugely appealing. The 2014 is already quite expressive and giving. It should drink well for another 15-20 years, maybe more."

    Cavallotto

    Italy (Italy), Piedmont (Italy)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Roasted Vegetables, Vegetables

"I had tasted this wine from barrel last year, and the wine was already shaping up beautifully back then. Staying the course, the 2015 Barolo Bricco Boschis shows extreme elegance and finesse. These are the characteristics of what is surely one of the most beautiful vineyard sites in Barolo. The Bricco Boschis cru affords a panoramic view onto much of the Langhe, with snowcapped Alps in the background. Barolo from Castiglione Falletto tends to show characteristics that are very fine, precise and linear. That's fundamentally what you get here despite the more exuberant and fleshy 2015 vintage. This wine is truly beautiful."

The full-bodied palate boasts structure and personality, delivering dried Marasca cherry, blood orange, star anise and tobacco set against a backbone of firm noble tannins."

"Enticingly fragrant, this gorgeous wine opens with classic Nebbiolo aromas of woodland berry, wild rose, forest floor, pipe tobacco, dark spice and a balsamic whiff of menthol. Reflecting the nose, the delicious, structured palate delivers dried cherry, raspberry compote, truffle, star anise and a note of crushed mint. Firm but noble tannins provide the framework and bestow impressive aging potential."

    Bruno Giacosa

    Italy (Italy), Piedmont (Italy)

    6 x 750 ml

Breads, Cured Meat, Ham, Hard Cheese, Red Meat, Risotto

"The balance of cherry, strawberry and sweet spice flavors and dense, dusty tannins leaves a divide that needs time to bridge. Offers the requisite amount of fruit, and the finish persists, with sweetness to offset the tannins. Firm, dense and long, gaining floral notes and a more ethereal profile with air. Best from 2022 through 2040."
